Plant Analysis - Packages
Available Plant Analysis packages as of October 2022. Each listed package option can be expanded by clicking on the name of the package. This will provide a more detailed overview of each option showing what result information you can expect to see for each analysis package.
As the most popular plant test, the Routine test provides a representation of a plant’s nutritional status and potential deficiencies.
Provides:
Total Nitrogen (%)
Phosphorus (%)
Potassium (%)
Calcium (%)
Magnesium (%)
Sodium (%)
Sulfur (%)
Zinc (ppm)
Iron (ppm)
Manganese (ppm)
Copper (ppm)
Boron (ppm)
Aluminum (ppm)
Molybdenum (ppm)
The Cover Crop Routine is tested on all above ground plant matter for a given area (i.e., 3ftx3ft, 2ftx2ft, etc). This area can be determined by overall growth of the cover crop but must be provided to the lab for accurate analysis reporting. This provides a baseline of nutrients within the cover crop species and includes an overview of the potential decomposition of the crop.
Provides:
Routine Test
Total Carbon (%)
C:N Ratio
Dry Matter (%)
Biomass (g)
The Cover Crop C:N Ratio package is used to measure the biomass of a cover crop in combination with the C:N ratio without the analysis for minerals.
Provides:
Total Carbon (%)
Total Nitrogen (%)
C:N Ratio
Dry Matter (%)
Biomass (g)
This package is used to measure the C:N ratio of any plant material and can be helpful when estimating potential breakdown times of residue.
Provides:
Total Carbon (%)
Total Nitrogen (%)
C:N Ratio
The Nitrogen test provides the current nitrogen content of a plant tissue.
Provides:
Total Nitrogen (%)
Stalk Nitrate is routinely tested on corn after the black layer and provides an overview for nitrogen efficiency.
Provides:
Nitrate-N (ppm)
